Granola pricing (2026): plans, free tier limits and alternatives
Last updated
Granola is an AI notepad for meetings that captures audio from your device instead of sending a bot into the call. It has three plans: Basic at $0, Business at $14 and Enterprise at $35 per user per month. Here’s what each includes, where the free plan stops, and how the alternatives compare on price.
Granola’s plans and prices
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | $0 | AI meeting notes, speaker tagging, custom note templates, multiple languages, bot-free capture, desktop and mobile apps. Notes from the last 30 days. |
| Business | $14 per user / month | Unlimited notes and history, advanced AI models, integrations (Attio, Notion, HubSpot, Affinity, Zapier), MCP and API access, central billing. |
| Enterprise | $35 per user / month | Everything in Business, plus single sign-on, HIPAA-compliant workspaces, workspace-wide retention policies, an audit API and priority support. |
Granola’s pricing page shows one price per plan and doesn’t mention annual billing, so check at checkout whether paying yearly changes the price.
Is Granola free?
Yes — the Basic plan is free and isn’t a time-limited trial. The catch is history: the pricing page says Basic shows notes from the last 30 days. (An older Granola blog post mentions 14 days; the pricing page is the one to trust.) If you want to look back further, you need Business.
What Granola does with your meetings
- No bot. Granola captures audio from your computer or phone; nothing joins the call.
- No stored audio. It transcribes in real time and says the audio is deleted after transcription.
- Where it goes. Transcription runs through providers such as Deepgram and Assembly, and notes are generated with AI providers such as OpenAI and Anthropic. Notes are stored in a US-hosted AWS environment, encrypted at rest and in transit.
- Training. Those providers aren’t allowed to train on your data. Granola trains its own models on anonymized data unless you opt out; Enterprise is opted out by default.
- Compliance. Granola reports SOC 2 Type 2 and offers a data processing agreement.
Which devices it runs on
The desktop app needs macOS 13 or later, or Windows 10 or later. The pricing page lists iOS, Android and Apple Watch apps on every plan.

How to choose
- Bot or no bot. If a notetaker in the participant list bothers your clients, pick a tool that captures from your device: Granola, Krisp, Fathom’s bot-free mode or QuietNote.
- Where your meetings are processed. Read each vendor’s security page: which AI providers they use, where data is stored, and whether your notes train their models.
- How far back you need to look. Free plans differ more in history and minutes than in features. Granola’s Basic plan keeps 30 days; Otter’s free plan caps minutes.
QuietNote is in private beta and doesn’t have pricing yet. If a bot-free note taker is what you’re after, see how it works.
